SKS Shortage?

Just a heads up for my brethren in Kalifornia. SKS rifles are almost impossible to find. I do a good amount of plinking with my M1 and a few months ago I found it impossible to find any .308 ammo with the exception of the really good 35-40.00 a box stuff. So I got it into my head to get a good SKS as 7.62x39 is still relativley cheap and plentiful out here. Guess what....you can't find a SKS, no kidding. Sure online and out of state but they are mostly non Kalif legal, but nothing out here AT ALL!!! I spent two days calling shops up and down the state and got the same answer. So if your going to be looking for a good cheap SHTF weapon good luck. If anyone knows who has'em please let me know.

Regards,

HUB

Went to Glendale Gun Show. Plenty SKS there. I saw maybe 8 different ones. Also AKs and ARs. I have no idea why you can not find in Riverside. Come to the gun show of the crossroads of the west in Orange county. about an hour and 20 min from you I guess.

P.S. I lost $1300 at the Glendale show. Either dropped it out of my pocket or some thief picked my pocket. I am over that though now. Was bitter for a few days. So watch your pockets

We severely lack in gun decent gun shops and shows around here where I live, so I ended up searching extensively online for an SKS. The Yugos are definitely plentiful it seems from most sites I could find, but their evil grenade launchers make them outlawed here in sunny Kali without modification.

An online auction site ended up coming through for me eventually, but it definitely took a while and a lot of searching.

At least we have nice weather. :sheep:

That sucks.

Hate to say it, but if I found $1300 lying on the floor at a gunshow, I look around for 5 minutes.....and then spend every penny before I left, making sure to drop off at least $500 at the Ron Paul table on the way out....

Yesterday's West Palm Beach gun show....I saw one lone SKS for $270!! :shocked_ma:

The wholesalers are out of the non-grenade launcher sks because they haven't been imported in a while. I think samco is the only one left and they only have fair condition I think. There are still plenty on gunbroker to buy.

Sorry to hear about your loss man.

Think of it this way: you only lost $650 in1987 dollars?
